I hate calendars. They stress me out. All they do is show me all the interruptions messing up my day, my week, my life. Important events get lost in the clutter. When I look at my calendar it’s like looking at a bucket full of broken glass. So we decided to do something about it.
I wanted something simple. Just tell me how much time I have until a certain event, or until the next event on my calendar.
That’s exactly what we built with the Google Calendar channel for Numerous. It is so cool.
In Numerous, just tap "+", choose the Google Calendar channel, and sign in with your Google account. You can choose to count down to a specific event or to the next event in a calendar. Then just choose which calendar, and if appropriate, which event.
Boom. Done.
Now you don’t need to know what day it is, what time it is, what timezone you’re in, or even when your event is. You’ll just have a simple countdown. You can share it publicly or privately, embed it in your web site (like I’ve done here), comment on it, and set notifications on it.
Sure, I still use calendars. But the Google Calendar channel for Numerous gives me a whole new way to look at time. And I like it. A lot.
